Early Childhood Philosophy

We believe that it is important for children to have experiences with peers and caring adults in a fun, safe and positive environment. Early learning opportunities that occur through play-based, child-focused programs prepare children to be successful, life-long learners.

Preschool Curriculum

Hudsonville Public Schools offers a play-based kindergarten readiness preschool curriculum that teaches positive self-concepts, social, physical, intellectual, and emotional  development, language skills, and self-expression through large and small group learning.

All Hudsonville Public Schools Early Childhood Programs incorporate:

  • Michigan Early Childhood Standards of Quality
  • Creative Curriculum
  • Zoo-Phonics
  • Handwriting Without Tears

These programs are used as a blueprint for planning and implementing a developmentally appropriate, research-based curriculum which provides a solid foundation for learning through social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development.

Early Childhood Center Opening Fall of 2014!

We are excited to announce that the Early Childhood Center (ECC) is anticipating opening for Fall 2014 programs! Over the last eight years, the Early Childhood programs have grown from serving approximately 60 students to serving approximately 300 three, four and five-year old children.  Presently, there are nine different sites which hold Early Childhood programs, ranging from churches to middle schools.  The new ECC will bring many of our programs and classrooms together under one roof with additional amenities.
